RX8_500

Avolites has out done themselves again with the introduction of their latest series of media servers, the Ai R Series.  Avolites is toughing the new servers as their more most powerful range yet with the latest in processors, solid state drives and AMD graphics cards.

More from the Ai Press Release

The Netherlands – Avolites is on stand 8-K330 at ISE Amsterdam, which opens today at the RAI Exhibition and Conference Centre, to launch its powered up new range of Ai R Series media servers.

The Ai R Series is Avolites’ most powerful range of media servers to date, and comprises the Ai Infinity R4, Ai Infinity R8, Ai Infinity Rx4 and Ai Infinity Rx8. All servers in the range take advantage of the increased speed and power of the latest processors, solid-state drives and AMD graphics cards.

“We’ve packed the very best technology into the Ai R Series so we can be sure it satisfies even the most demanding of applications,” says Avolites’ MD, Steve Warren. “The servers offer smooth playback of up to 8K media using the leading AiM Codec plus 4 or 8 full 1080p HD outputs. The Ai R Series is the future of media technology now, direct from Avolites. We can’t wait to showcase what they can do for your project.”

Avolites’ redesigned, bespoke ISE booth features a ‘Media Integration Focus’ area where visitors can get hands on with the latest in integrated lighting and video.

Visitors will also be among the first worldwide to get a sneak preview of the much-anticipated Titan V10 software, which enhances the best loved features of V9. The most striking addition is the full 3D visualiser from Capture now fully integrated into the software. We will also be demonstrating the now much loved V9 features including pixel mapping, Key Frame Shape engine and fully featured theatre functionality.

If that is not enough we are launching (exclusive to ISE) our new user designable control surfaces for Titan software. Especially designed for installers this new API allows you to create your own touch control surfaces using basic HTML skills. Use your creative skills to generate a user interface tailored for your specific use which then harnesses the power of the Titan software. It is also compatible with popular control systems such as Q-Sys and Crestron. With this new ability to tame Titan to your specific requirements you can start using our leading lighting software in situation you never before thought possible.

Also on show will be the Arena console with Optical Titan Net Switch and Avolites’ complete Titan Net solution.

“The Arena console has attracted a huge amount of attention since launch – we’ve been inundated with lighting designers, rental companies and specifiers,” says Avolites’ Sales Director, Koy Neminathan. “Feedback has been fantastic on the vast array of faders and buttons alongside an integrated touch screen, and second, smaller touch screen and the rotary encoders. The unique Optical Switch built in to the console was hailed as an incredibly useful tool.”

Arena is the ideal console for festivals, theatres and anywhere that a larger control surface is required. It combines the popular interface of the Tiger Touch II with 30 additional Playback faders and expanded live control options and features.

The Optical TNS is perfect for connecting FOH to stage using Cat5E Ethernet cables for distances under 100m, and an Optical input for fibre connections over distances exceeding 100m. The 1Gb network switch also features a built in UPS to ensure the stability and resilience of your show setup.

Avolites Prepares to Release Titan Mobile Desk at PLASA

Avolites has begun releasing information about their latest control desk, the Titan Mobile.  The official release is set to happen during the PLASA show this month in London England.  They have been building up hype and excitement about the new desk all over the social media sites and networks and it seems to be working.  They have got me interested and wanting to learn more about the desk.

I am still waiting to see a spec sheet about the board to see what it can handle, but from the limited information that Avo has put out on the mobile, it is designed to be connected to a windows laptop to get a heads up display that is so needed with advanced controls.

If you have sometime, check out the “slide” show on the Titan Mobile on Avolites website, www.avolites.org.uk.

AvoLites PLASA 2010 AvoLife After Party

How super upset am I that I am not going to PLASA this year?!  The latest email from Avolites put me over the top.  Now I am super jealous of everyone going to PLASA 2010.  Avolites just announced/invited everyone to the blow out party on Monday, September 13th.  The Avo Afterparty 2010 sounds like it is going to be a blast! It will be held at Fabric, London from 8pm to late.  I like that the end time is “late”, possibility of not ending??? ;)

If you want to attend the Avo Afterparty, be sure to stop by the Avo stand at PLASA, 1-F18, BEFORE the party begins, to get on the list and fast tracked into the party.  Who likes standing in line any ways?! Think it might not be worth the trip?  Check out past PLASA Avolite parties, now I really wish I could make it!

Avolites Introduces Tiger Touch Lighting Console

Avolites Tiger Touch Lighting DeskDuring LDI 2009, I got a chance to stop by and take a close look at Avolites latest lighting desk, the Tiger Touch.  The Tiger Touch is a “hybrid” of the of powerful Diamond 4 functionality coupled with the friendly Pearl interface. The desk features a wide screen touch interface that provides an ever evolving software skin which can be adapted to the programmers style and layout preferences.

The Tiger Touch Lighting Desk utilizes Avolites latest Operating System, the TITAN.  TITAN has been created as a “Clean Sheet”. It’s fresh, clear design is fast and elegant to use. Avolites will continue to develop the TITAN Operating System and these benefits are continuously offered to users ongoingly at no extra charge under Avolites policy of “Free Upgrades for the Life of the Console”.

Some of the features included in the Tiger Touch and the TITAN OS:

  • Fixture Exchange
  • Fixture Copy
  • Attribute Timing on Cues
  • Head Up Display with Visualizer
  • iPhone/iPod Touch Remote Control

The Tiger Touch Lighting Desk offer 4 universes of DMX out directly o the board with the ability to speak Art-Net nativily over Ethernet and up to 12 universe of DMX. The Tiger Touch seems to be a great tour console with the 4universes of output giving us 2,048 addresss to play with plenty of conventionals and moving lights.  With it’s small form factor, just 29.5″ x 24″ x 12″ and weighing in at 66lbs in a flight case, the Tiger Touch Lighting Desk might be an option.  I am still waiting to hear on price as the desk has not begun to ship yet through TMB, the US distributor.
