#LDI2010 – Chauvet Playing Their Cards Close

What an interesting email from Chauvet!  They really are playing the cards close on this one.  From the looks of it, they have something pretty exciting in store for us on Friday. What can it be??? I really want to know!  I have to hand it to Chauvet, they are making me feel like a kid on Christmas eve on this one! Only a couple days and we’ll find out.

Side note: What else Is Chauvet holding something else up their sleeves besides a couple extra Ace’s?!? Don’t let the Pit Bosses catch you with that. Remember, we are going to a desert. ;)

The line premiering at the show consists of more than 20 LED-fitted products, including indoor/outdoor linear, pod and panel luminaires, and control systems. All products are ETL-listed and meet or exceed industry standards for architects, lighting specifiers, and systems integrators.

Outdoor products are rated IP66 or IP67. Two have been submitted for the Lightfair International Innovation Award — the Ilumipod 48 IP, an RGBW PAR-style wash light with a color temperature range of 3,200K to 10,000K; and the Ilumipod 36 IP VW, a multipurpose variable white light with 18 warm and 18 cool white LEDs and a color temperature of 2,800K to 7,000K. Both can be controlled by any universal DMX-512 controller.

The indoor line includes DMX-controllable units and a compact, low-profile, self-contained lighting system, called Logic. At the heart of the system is the Logic 4 x 36, which delivers data and power to an impressive assortment of linear, MR-16 size and AR1-11 size fixtures.

The new division’s website, www.iluminarc.com, will be launched simultaneously with the products’ launch in May. ILUMINARC representatives will be at Booth 142 during Lightfair.

New Product: Chauvet LED PinSpot

ledpinspot-prChauvet Lighting recently announced the new product to their LED DJ product line, the LED PinSpot at the NAMM Show in Anaheim California.

The LED PinSpot features an extremely compact, high-power, 3W (540mA) LED with in a newly design shape of a pinspot fixture.  The beam angle of the new LED PinSpot is very close to a traditional pinspot at 9 degrees.  What truly sets the LED PinSpot apart from the traditional tungsten pinspot is that the LED PinSpot runs at 120V, but only draws 2.4 watts per fixture over 25-30w for it’s tungsten counterpart.  This means that you can load more LED PinSpots into the same 15-20amp circuit with out fear of tripping a circuit and still have similar output.

One small setback on the LED PinSpot is that is does not accept any form of control other then being turned on or off, but as with standard pinspots, this still holds true.  Pricing has not been announced, but for more information about the Chauvet LED PinSpot, visit their website at www.chauvetlighting.com.  To purchase the LEDPinSpot, visit the dealer section of Chauvet’s website.
