iSquint Podcast: Episode 11 – #LDI2010 PreShow with Michael Eddy

After just a bit of a break, the iSquint Podcast is back and feature packed! In this the 11th episode, I talked with Michael Eddy, for those you on twitter, you may know him at @mseddy2900. Besides just being an all around awesome guy, Michael has also been in and seen a lot in this industry over the past thirty years. He has a lot of great insight and knowledge about every aspect of the business and has some great stories to go along with it all.

Back to the Podcast, each year, I like doing a PreShow podcast to get everyone pumped and prepared for what to see at the show and how to make the mmost of your time.  Michael and I sat down and had a lot longer of a talk about this then I originally thought.  It is worth every 43 minutes worth of information.

First Edition iSquint T-Shirt Are In!

The first edition of the iSquint t-shirts are in… HURRAY!  If you can remember back to last month.  I know, it seems so long ago, the start of fall has been crazy busy! So last month I ran a contest for you guys to come up with a great new phrase for the back of the first EVER iSquint t-shirt. There were tons of submissions, it was tough to chose just 10 to put up for voting, let me tell you.

So after narrowing it down to just 10 phrases, I added a poll to the site for you guys to chose which of the top ten phrases should be put on the back of the t-shirts. It was a close race for a while and then one submission started to lead the pack.

The winning submission from Nik Robalino took home the very first iSquint t-shirt phrase.  And the winning phrase being iSquint so you don’t have to.  I love it by the way!  So congrats Nik, and enjoy your t-shirt, wear it proud, you earned it!

iSquint LDI 2010 T-Shirt Phrase Contest

It has been a request by you guys for the longest time, an iSquint t-shirt. LDI 2010 will be the release of the FIRST iSquint t-shirt. But, there is a snag, I need a good iSquint phrase for the back. I have a great design for the front, but the back needs something and who better to ask then the squints of the world!

I am calling on YOU for a phrase for the back of the FIRST official iSquint t-shirt. The plan is to collect as many suggestions as possible, and then open the the top ten phrases for voting. The person with the winning phrase gets one t-shirt in their size and one other t-shirt to give to anyone they so choose. Along with recognition of the phrase on iSquint.

As with any contest, there has to be a couple of rules.

1. The phrase must me PG-13
2. References to that adult web site will be ignored & disqualified
3. Must reference lighting in some way

Pretty easy right? Now, to enter a phrase, just leave a comment on this post.  You will be asked to leave your name and email address.  Again, with any personal information entered into iSquint.net is safe and secure and not sold, traded or distributed to ANYONE… EVER.  Then just leave your entry phrase into the comment and done.  Enter as many times as you like, more the merrier I say.

Please note, all comments will not be visible to you until the end of the Phrase Contest, which is Monday, August 30th. After that will be the contest to determine which of the top ten phrases entered will chosen for the FIRST EVER iSquint t-shirt.

New Lighting iPhone App – iSquint

Do you like your iPhone/iPod Touch?  Do you like to read iSquint?  Well, to take a line from Apple’s marketing department, There’s an app for that, and it’s called the iSquint App.  Think of the iSquint app as a portal into all the different types of content that iSquint produces.  Want to read the latest headlines, easy, click on the home screen of the app and there are the latest articles for you to read at your leisure.  You can also listen to the iSquint Podcast and view video’s from the iSquint YouTube Channel all from right within the iSquint app. You can even view an up-to-date listing of the iSquint twitter feed.

You get all of this for nothing, zilch, nada or otherwise… FREE.  I don’t feel that you should have to pay to read something that you can read for free on the internet.  So why even offer an iPhone app when you can read iSquint on your iPhone through Safari?  During the redesign of iSquint, it was important to me to make the site readable across ALL platforms, including the iPhone and it was successful. But how to make it even easier to read iSquint on the iPhone was the next challenge… an iPhone app! The iSquint App makes it even easier and quicker to read the latest news, podcast, video’s and twitter updates from iSquint in one easy to read app.
