Position Summary:  As a primary contributor to the Ocean Thin Films team, your mission is to identify, develop and grow SeaChanger business opportunities.  This growth will come through the pursuit of projects with distributors, lighting designers and specifiers.  In addition, you will build and maintain relationships with existing customers and end users, so that SeaChanger continues to be positioned as the high-value option for future opportunities.

Essential Functions:

• Develops business growth opportunities at new and existing customers
• Builds strong relationships with industry experts including:
• Lighting designers
• Specifiers
• Distributors
• Architects
• Rental companies
• Academics
• Drives applications knowledge and communicates that to the industry through white papers, symposia presentations, trade group involvement, etc.
• Acts as a primary applications contact for lighting designers, specifiers, end users and distributors
• Participates in ~12 trade shows each year
• Drives new programs:
• Initiates, develops and defines customer requirements in a consultative sales environment
• Provides ongoing technical interaction with the customer
• Communicates the voice of the customer to the SeaChanger organization
• Guides and tracks programs to completion in a timely manner
• Provides on-site customer assistance regarding existing and new programs including:
• Review of customer technical requirements and program planning
• Communication of SeaChanger guidance regarding specifications, delivery and pricing
• Produces market information regarding programs, customers and competitors to support fact-based strategic planning
• Maintains strong relationships and communication links with SeaChanger manufacturing facilities
• Works in conjunction with SeaChanger engineers to develop product enhancements
• May coordinate additional technical support and services to fulfill customer needs
• Interprets account trends and clearly communicates opportunities and threats
• Develops and executes sales and marketing plans for appropriate customers, markets and product lines
• Travels frequently (50%+), including international travel and short notice travel
• Understands and utilizes financial information for forecasting, opportunity evaluation and quoting

Education, Training, and Skill Recommendations/Requirements:

• 7+ years entertainment lighting industry experience with an emphasis on lighting design, systems integration or lighting engineering
• 3+ years industry experience in a business development or sales role desirable
• Employs good written and oral English communication skills
• Must be computer literate in MS Office and Outlook; ideally capable of understanding and creating lighting plots and engineering drawings.

UsedLighting.com Begins PAID Intership Search

UsedLighting.com, a division of 4Wall Entertainment, is proud to offer its first ever internship.  The internship will last 90 days and carries the possibility of further employment.

The internship is a great opportunity for anyone looking for quality experience and references in entertainment and theatrical lighting.  The selected intern will work directly with the used sales and marketing team of UsedLighting.com and in turn, 4Wall Entertainment.

Duties will include:

-Gathering, pricing, and posting of equipment on the UsedLighting.com and NewLighting.com websites
-Testing and prep of theatrical lighting equipment for sale
-Event support including customer interaction
-Dealing with used equipment movement between 4Wall locations

Requirements:

-Residency in Las Vegas for the duration of the Internship (not provided by 4Wall)
-At least two (2) years college experience (any related major)
-Working knowledge of entertainment lighting products and manufacturers
-Minor to mid-level repair capabilities for entertainment lighting products
-Above average computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
-Social Media Competency
-Some physical capabilities (able to lift 50-60 lbs)
-High level of motivation!

ChamSys, Arkaos & PAID Internship Interviews @ PRG’s Booth – OH MY

I just got a note from PRG Live, Production Resource Groups Facebook Page, that they will have a wealth of new products in their booth, 1360, at USITT this week. Make sure to stop by and take a look at ChamSys MagicQ 100 Console connected to Arkaos Media Master all being run off my computer of choice, a MacBook Pro.

PRG will also have a PRG Commander console on hand to demo.  The Commander is an automation console for scenic elements and show control.

PRG’s Internship Coordinator Rich Rubin will be on hand interviewing for Summer 2010 internships. These are paid internships in lighting, audio, video, scenic, systems integration, operations, finance and engineering. North American sites may include Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Toronto, NY Metro area facilities, Orlando, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
