Martin Introduces Mac 401 Dual LED Washlight with Zoom

Martin MAC 401 DualMartin Professional just announced the introduction of a new Mac LED washlight called the Mac 401 Dual.  What is uqnique about this particular LED washlight is the fact that it is double sided… yes, double sided! One side being the 36 LEDs and the other side being a beam reflective mirror.

The Mac 401 Dual utilizes 36, multi-color, single point source LEDs mixing RGB LEDs with a maximum output of 6,600 lumens of power while only consuming 370w of power.  Like almost any LED these days, the expected lamp hour life of the LEDs is 50,000 lamp hours before they begin to dim in intensity.

Another interesting feature of the Mac 401 Dual is the ability to update the fixtures onboard firmware through DMX input which makes it easy to add new software features.

Martin Introduces FlexDot S1

Martin FlexDOT S1_bStraight from the Press Release on this one:

Martin Professional’s new FlexDOT S1™, LED video displays break free from the flat, rectangular format. Fully customizable and DMX512 controllable, these bright and lightweight strings of LED pixels allow for the creation of customized video solutions with maximum artistic flexibility and a minimum of effort.

FlexDOT is a perfect solution for integrating LED video technology in stage sets, clubs, retail, even outdoor environments, enabling unique display solutions to be realized without the long lead times or costs associated with a ‘from scratch’ design.

The FlexDOT concept is simple – individually controlled, intelligent, full color pixels mounted on a flexible cable that allows designers/architects to create unique and customized LED video displays. Each pixel (dot) consists of a bright RGB LED driven by its own processor and individually addressable for independent control of color, special effects, and animation. Pixels can be arranged as needed and later mapped to the image using pixelmapping software. FlexDOT can be controlled from any DMX512 source such as Martin’s Maxedia™ media server.

At 2.5 candela per pixel, FlexDOT is twice as bright as competitive products and provides an image quality and level of performance on par with the best conventional LED screens. This flexible, lightweight solution is also efficient and long-lasting and can be arranged into nearly any form to provide designers unlimited options to enhance interior and exterior spaces.

Martin’s P3-100 LED System Controller

martin-p3-100systemcontroller-web

Martin Professional has just released a new system controller for LED screens and systems.  What is interesting to note about the P3-100 System Controller is that Martin does not call this a media sever but “an interface between the source and screen”.  The P3-100 controller acts as a interface between the lighting desk and the LED output, weather that be an LED screen, curtain or array.  The controller lets a programmer operate the LED screen like it was a lighting source via the desk with such abilities as brightness, image rotation and position independently from the actual video source.

With the P3-100 Martin introduces P3 technology, designed to bring the plug and play nature of DMX to the world of video. Based on Gigabit Ethernet and Cat5e wiring, the P3 technology removes the inherent limitations of video-type protocols for easy connectivity and speed of set-up. It enables bi-directional communication with the LED screen, creating a network that greatly increases the speed of setup and mapping. Splitting the signal can be done with standard off the shelf Gigabit Ethernet switches. Built in test patterns can be used to check the screen before use. All LED panels communicates with the P3-100 to report any problems and all settings can be conveniently stored on a USB stick.

What is amazing about the P3 technology contained with in the controller is that it can support 500,000 pixels over a single Cat5e cable with HD quality transmissions.

Martin Introduces Maxxyz Module System

martin_maxxzy-modules

Martin Professional recently introduced a new line up to their line of Maxxyz Lighting control desk, the Maxxyz Module system.

Martin’s Maxxyz Modules is a lighting controller system based on a series of modules that can be used in different combinations to create a custom console to fit individual needs. Five modules are available to build a custom console or can be used with Maxxyz PC™, Maxxyz™ or Maxxyz Compact™.

All of them can be used table-top, mounted in a 19-inch rack system or in the Maxxyz™ Module Frame. Users can add additional modules as wings, swap modules within the frame or upgrade to a larger frame to build a new Maxxyz controller.

The module base includes a 2 DMX universe port so that whenever a module is added to a system two physical DMX connections are also added. Each module comes equipped with a built-in Maxxyz PC dongle. With its built-in 2 port DMX, each module is a small Maxxyz console with support for up to 32 DMX universes.

The Cerebrum module is a touch-screen computer and the core of the Maxxyz modular concept. It runs the lighting software on Windows XP Embedded which controls the Maxxyz Compact. The Cerebrum can also be used as a stand-alone unit for control in installations and also functions as a backup system for any Maxxyz console, Maxxyz PC or other Cerebrum module. Combined with the Maxxyz Manager software, it can be used to automate a complex lighting system.

The Programmer module is the main control unit of a Maxxyz system. This module can be used with the Cerebrum or with the Maxxyz PC software.

The Button Module offers up to 30 customizable direct access buttons. Each row of 10 buttons is individually assignable to cuelists, groups, fixtures or presets by the simple press of a Mode button. Furthermore, a set of 5 LCD buttons, 2 Up/Down keys and a scroll wheel provide direct access to functionalities related to each row of buttons. An encoder belt gives flexible access to such features as time, speed and future options. The Button module also works with the new Maxedia 4™ software to recall cues and other functions.

The Submaster module provides an additional 24 handles of controls for cuelists, channels, submasters or inhibitives.

The Playback module adds 10 motorized faders with 15 LCD buttons and a master Go section, extending the playback capabilities of Maxxyz.

The Frame module can accept up to two modules of any kind (except the Cerebrum which only fits in the upper position), making it possible to combine different modules in the same frame — thereby customizing it for a specific application. The included blind plate can be used to hold a laptop or notes and paperwork.
