#ProLight + Sound 2010 #PLS2010 First Round of Photos are in

With a little help from my good friend Peter Kirkup from Zero 88, we have photos from the show floor of ProLight + Sound in Frankfurt Germany.  The show opened at 9am this morning local time and has seen some great foot traffic and exciting new products.  All of which I have been writing about this entire month!

Peter has been kind enough to send me the first round of photos of the show with some great shots of the new products announced and shown on the floor. I’ll be adding more and more photos through out the day and through the rest of the show as they come in.  If you are on Twitter, be sure to follow the search string #PLS2010 and #ProLight.  If you can read German, all the better!

If we are lucky, Peter will “produce” another excellent trade show video like he did at LDI 2009 in Orlando Florida!

Thanks Peter!!

#ProLight + Sound Releases iPhone App #PLS2010

All month long I have been writing about new and exciting things that are being announced and shown at the ProLight + Sound Show in Frankfurt Germany this week.  Well, it looks like ProLight + Sound has something to announce themselves!

On this, the first day of ProLight + Sound, Messe Frankfurt just released their iPhone app of the show! Seems like every trades how these days is coming out with their own iPhone app to help attendees navigate and find information about the show and I love it!  The app gives attendees the ability to locate an exhibitor by searching for their name or by booth location.  The app even has a Gelandeplan, or Ground Plan of the show to help navigate the large show floor.

Just like any trade show app should have, the ProLight + Sound app list events and sessions that are being offered at the show and gives the info about it and location. Find something you like or want to attend or see?  Add it to your Favoriten or Favorite’s right with in the app for quick reference!

The app is a great alternative to the traditional printed trade show guide as it is one less thing to carry, plus the app is searchable.  Unlike a printed trade show guide where you have to hut and search for what you are looking for.

ProLight + Sound did a fantastic job with the app and makes me wish I was at the show even more now!  The app is a FREE download from all countries of the iTunes App Store. If you are at the show, be sure to head over to the App Store on your iPhone or iPod Touch and download the FREE ProLight + Sound app!

Sneak Peak: Zero 88 Prepares to Announce ZerOS Remote for iPhone

My inbox is being over run with announcements and leaks for new products that are being shown later this week at ProLight + Sound in Frankfurt Germany.  It looks like Zero 88 is preparing to announce a new product, the ZerOS Remote for the iPhone and iPod Touch.  Doing a quick search on the iTunes App Store, it looks like the app has not been approved yet by Apple.

No details were included with the email, but it is safe to assume that the ZerOS remote works with Zero 88 flagship console, the ORB desk and their Frog line up of consoles. As with most remote apps for lighting desk out there, I would have to venture a guess that the ZerOS Remote App connects to the lighting desk via a wireless access point over WIFI.

From the screen grabs of the app, it looks like you have quite a bit of control of your lights via the app. Seems like there is a view for each screen and programming section of the console.  Such as palettes, key pad, encoders and even the Frog style wheels for playback.

I am expecting to hear more about the ZerOS Remote App before ProLight + Sound starts on Wednesday.  If you are attending the show, be sure to stop by Zero 88’s stand, B54 in Hall 11.0.

The upgrade includes a different R:G:B ratio for better colour mixing performance, and a switch mode power supply for improved energy saving and less heat emission, thus enhancing environmental protection. Specifically targeting fixed installations, it is available in three colour finishes – grey, black and white.

MultiSpot HP LS1009

The Multispot HP is a versatile 685 lumen LED lighting fixture with a space saving shape. Neatly fitting within most box trusses, this unit becomes a quiet, bright truss warmer in addition to uplighting walls and spotlighting features. Architectural and commercial projects will benefit from the sleek design and low maintenance the MultiSpot HP offers. The use of a medium-density array of 9 x 3W MulTriCell © LED devices, which are forced-air cooled using Multiform’s unique DSC technology, allows a much higher brightness and light consistency than any standard LED fixture, but provides quieter operation with less need for airflow by the temperature-controlled cooling fan.

Rumor Mill: Sneak Peak From Martin @ ProLight + Sound

I received a VERY interesting email yesterday for one of my contacts deep under cover at the Denmark plant of Martin Professional.  They sent me a link to a server that has disappeared as of this morning.  Thank goodness I was I able to snag a copy of the file off the server before that happened!

Looks like Martin is preparing to announce something huge at ProLight + Sound 2010 at the end of the month.  From the looks of the video, Martin is playing this one close to the chest. From what I can tell, it HAS TO BE a new control surface! Take a look at the 52 second video, what do you think?

Barco Announces New Wash Luminaire – SHOWBEAM 2.5

showbeam_prodRancho Cordova, CA — 31 March 2009 — Visualization pioneer Barco announced today the debut of the SHOWBEAM™ 2.5, a new High End Systems automated wash luminaire that features a jointly developed Philips MSR 2500-watt lamp source. A smooth field, soft-edge illumination is produced using a new radial lenticular homogenizing lens system that provides a signature look on stage. In addition, the dedicated wash light includes a user changeable fixed color wheel, a variable CTO, a full CMY color mixing system, and the ability to produce an 11-degree fixed hard-edge profile with fast color change and Electronic Strobe.
