Morpheus Lightings New Dichroic Color Mixing System

By: Justin Lang on August 25, 2009

morpheus_pacificFaderFor a long time know, Ocean Optics held the top rung of the color engine market as an add on to the source four fixture. For sometime now, we have been wondering when they would come out with a SeaChanger for the popular pacific line of Selecon fixtures. Looks like Morpheus Lighting has beaten them to the punch with the PacificFader.

The New PacificFader adds dichroic color mixing option to the Selecon Pacific range of lighting fixtures.  The PacificFader uses the same technology that was originally designed for the Morpheus PanaBeam XR2.

Similar to the Ocean Optics SeaChanger, the Morpheus PacificFader uses standard 100-240VAC for power supply with 5 pin XLR in and out for DMX data.

There are three versions of the PacificFader available depending on the type of Pacific fixture you want to incorporate the PacificFader to.

  • PacificFader3 – Provides CYM Color mixing for use with tungsten sources.
  • PacificFader4 – adds an incredibly smooth douser/dimmer for use with CDM and CST arc sources.
  • PacificFader5 – adds Morpheus exclusive variable 2x CTO for daylight arcs.

If you are planning on attending PLASA09 at Earls Court in London on September 13-16, be sure to visit the Morpheus Lighting booth to see the MorpheusFader in action! For those who can not attend, (like us!), visit www.morpheuslights.com for more information.
