PERG Safe Return to Work Guidelines: Precautions for Preventing Transmission of COVID-19 for Camera and Lighting Rental Operations, Sound Stages, and Production Vehicles

This guidance document provides measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus for camera and lighting equipment rental operations, facilities that rent sound stages, and for trucks and vehicles used by rental companies. The PERG Task Group applied the recommendations of the CDC, OSHA, and public health officials to rental operations, equipment, and facilities.

The rental community is dedicated to safely supporting productions. In order to return to work safely while there is still risk of community spread, the rental community recognizes the need to provide assurance to our production partners and our employees that safety procedures are in place to minimize risk of transmission in the course of rental operations as well as to comply with municipal public health departments that may require protocols to be followed. The objective of this document is to proactively provide the rental industry with a unified set of guidelines to address the challenge of reopening safely.

Version 1.0 is a DRAFT document. It will undergo a public review process from May 19th through June 9th. When you download the document you will also receive instructions should you wish to provide comment. All comments will be reviewed by the PERG Task Group for resolution and revision. Because the circumstances of the pandemic make new developments likely, the Guidelines are intended to be a “living document” that the Task Group will update as new information becomes available and feedback is received.
