Gov. Mike Parson of Missouri To Allow Concerts to Resume

By: Justin Lang on May 5, 2020

I don’t like getting political here or almost ever.  It is touching the third rail some times.  So please let this post start a discussion and not attacks.

Governor Mike Parson of Missouri has laid out a plan to reopen his state and to allow concerts to take place.  Though the venue does still have to adhere to the six foot social distancing rule.

The question is, Is this to soon?

We are a divided country right now in the middle of a pandemic.  We all want to get back to normal, get back to work, and to restart our lives.  From the beginning, the important signal of a turning point is the flattening of the curve of daily infected individuals, then a steady decline.

Looking specifically at the state of Missouri’s current curve, it certainly has not flattened.

Missouri State wide Curve- as of 5/4/20

I like every single person in the country and specifically our business, wants to see the country open back up and get back to giggin’. But is this to early? Even with social distancing and any “gate checking” to be performed, is it worth the risk to start any sort of mass gathering?

On another note, the major city’s in the state see otherwise. Several major cities in Missouri such as St. Louis, Kansas City and Springfield will still be enacting stay at home orders until further notice, not allowing concerts or major gatherings to happen in their city.

Stay safe, stay home, stay well!
