As we head in to nearly 3 months of Social Distancing, a world wide pandemic and an economy basically shut down, this Memorial Day, don’t do the norm. What does that mean? Memorial Day, a day which is typically a holiday and meaning a 3 day weekend. Hasn’t the past 11 weeks been enough? Yes, not really a vacation, but what can you do to make this day different and feel special as it is suppose to?
One option is to do what you normally do on Memorial day, though most of those activities have been cancelled or moved online. So how to make this day feel different and special from the past 70+ days?
Do something outside of your norm. Have you been sheltering in place? Had little contact with the physical outside world? Load up the car and do a driving tour of your area. You don’t have to get out and you and your family will be safe in the car.
Whatever you do, please remember those that have served our country to bring us these freedoms that we can take for-granted sometimes. It is their scarifies that help protect and continue our way of life. So if you have a family member, friend or know a service member, give them a quick thanks, it means the world to them.
Stay Strong, Stay Home, Stay Safe
