Luminex is pushing GigaCore firmware v1.9.1 as a recommended upgrade for anyone running v1.9.0. It’s a targeted release — no new features, just a fan speed fix and a handful of stability and CPU efficiency bug fixes that are worth having, particularly the switch-lockup fix and the gPTP/PTPv2 improvements under heavy control plane traffic.

All v1.9.0 users are advised to upgrade. The update is available via the Luminex website or directly through Araneo.

Improvement

• Fan speed control now takes temperature flags from SFP modules into account

Bug Fixes

• Fixed unnecessary internal logging and CPU processing when PTPv2 messages are received on non-PTPv2 ports, and on the O26-I with only one PSU connected
• Fixed a switch-lockup bug caused very occasionally by a racing condition in the snooping table
• Improved gPTP and PTPv2 stability when the control plane is handling high levels of traffic; also improves CPU efficiency
• Fixed a bug that allowed forwarding of invalid Layer 2 (non-IP) broadcast messages injected by a third-party device with a multicast source address
