Netron CLU 2.0 Adds a Graphical Network Map and Third-Party Device Discovery

Elation’s Netron CLU has been a useful-but-basic utility for managing Netron devices on a lighting network. CLU 2.0 is a proper overhaul — less a config tool, more a network management platform — and the headline feature is a graphical Network Map that replaces the old flat device list with a visual representation of your actual network topology: gateways, switches, ports, and RDM devices in context.

The visibility improvements extend beyond Netron hardware. CLU 2.0 now discovers compatible Art-Net devices and supported RDM devices from other manufacturers, so you’re not limited to just seeing the Netron boxes. Cross-subnet NETRON discovery is in there too, which matters once your rig gets big enough to span multiple subnets. Built-in DMX monitoring, universe-based organization, and advanced filtering round out the toolset. Firmware updates for Netron devices are also handled from within CLU 2.0. Free download, Windows 10/11 only, requires a 100/1000 Ethernet port and admin rights.
