Luminex has pushed firmware 2.9.0 for the LumiNode and LumiCore ranges, and the headliner is Araneo Studio compatibility — specifically the online and offline configuration workflow that’s landing in the upcoming Araneo Studio v1.2.0 release. If you’re managing a larger install or touring rig with multiple nodes, this is the groundwork for deploying and pushing configs across the network without touching each device individually.
Beyond the Araneo Studio prep, the update tightens up the WebUI with a couple of genuinely useful quality-of-life additions: a process engine status indicator so you can see at a glance when a fixture take-over is in progress, and a tooltip on the process engine drag-and-drop so copying engines is less of a guessing game. There are also three bug fixes in this release — the Gateway settings reset not sticking, duplicate sACN output entries, and a dialog lock-out issue. All three are the kind of quiet headaches that are hard to diagnose on a job.
Worth noting: this firmware is a prerequisite for the Araneo Studio v1.2.0 config features. If you’re planning to use those workflows when Studio 1.2.0 lands, update now rather than scrambling on install day.
Luminex also released Araneo Studio 1.2.0 alongside this firmware update — the two are designed to work together, with Studio 1.2.0 adding the project-based workflow and GDTF library management that the firmware now supports.
